The Planetary Geodesy group is supporting two experiments onboard the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. The LRO camera (LROC) obtains amazing images while the Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) scans the Lunar surface. more to: LRO Mission

Industry Study: Laser Altimeter for Marco Polo

The Marco Polo mission, currently under study in the context of ESA’s Cosmic Vision Program, is foreseen to rendezvous with a NEA (Near-Earth Asteroid) and to return a sample from it to Earth. Before sampling, the spacecraft will fly in formation with the asteroid to undertake a comprehensive study of the object by a host of remote sensing techniques. more to: Industry Study: Laser Altimeter for Marco Polo

Observations of the meteorid-population in the Earth-Moon System

Zwei Meteore mit Shutter-Unterbrechungen, die von einer SPOSH Kamera bei Liebenhof (50 km östllich von Berlin) während einer Kampagne am 13. August 2007 aufgezeichnet wurden.

The SPOSH camer, a 360° camera, enables us to observe the night sky for the meteorid-population in the Earth-Moon system. Excursions took place during the last two years for observation campaigns. more to: Observations of the meteorid-population in the Earth-Moon System
